Tissue Graft Used for Patient in Pain Due to Recession

Butler, Steven

Patient presented with pain due to progressive recession which has progressed from 2mm to 4mm of gingiva attached on tooth #24 and #25. A connective tissue graft procedure was needed to treat the exposed root. The lack of attached gingiva lead to root sensitivity, increased inflammation, and uncontrolled bone loss and tooth loss. A connective tissue graft was performed to prevent inflammation and decrease root sensitivity. During the procedure, soft tissue was removed from the palette of the mouth and sutured over the exposed tooth root.
